The Madera County Transportation Commission does not provide transit services in Madera County. Below is a list of providers and their respective contact information.

 

***********REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS NOTICE - MADERA COUNTY TRANSIT SERVICES***********

Madera County is seeking an experienced contractor to operate and manage Madera County’s fixed-route and demand-response transit services. Proposals are due no later than 3:00 P.M. PST, Friday, March 22, 2024, to the Madera County Public Works Department, 200 West 4th St., Madera, CA. A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Madera County Public Works Dept. Conference Room 3135, 3rd Floor at the above address. Firms interested in submitting proposals may obtain a detailed RFP at the Madera County website- “Bid Opportunities” or by contacting Mr. Monty Cox, Transit Program Manager, at the above address or 559-675-7811.

Eastern Madera County Medical Escort Van

The Medical Escort Van is a service available to all Eastern Madera County residents. It operates Tuesdays and Thursdays only, by reservation, and is available only for transportation to medical appointments in Madera, Clovis, or Fresno. Call 559-263-8080 for more details.

Service Area
The Medical Escort has a limited Service Area in Eastern Madera County. Contact the Administration Office at 559-263-8080 to verify that your address is within the Service Area. Note: The Medical Escort differs from the Senior Bus Service Area.

Fare
The cost is $10 per round trip.

 

Eastern Madera County Senior Bus

The bus is for senior citizens 60+ and those with disabilities only, but can be used for a variety of purposes like medical appointments, trips to the senior center, or shopping at the businesses of Eastern Madera County.

Service Area
The Madera County Senior Bus has a limited Service Area that serves residents in parts of Oakhurst, Bass Lake, Coarsegold, and Ahwahnee. Note: The Senior Bus Service Area differs from the Medical Escort Service Area.

Service Hours And Days
The Senior Bus operates Monday through Friday, 9am to 4pm. There is no service on Holidays.

Scheduling Your Trip
Call 559-263-8080 to make a reservation. Reservations must be placed by 12pm the day before the ride.

Fares
The Senior Bus costs $1.50 per one-way trip.

 

Madera County Connection

Madera County Connection is a fixed-route commuter transit service with routes in Eastern Madera County, Eastin Arcola -- Ripperdan -- LaVina, and Chowchilla -- Fairmead. Call 559-263-8080 for more details.

MCC Dial-A-Ride is a general public service for those needing a ride beginning or ending in the County areas in and around the City of Madera. MCC Dial-A-Ride can be used for any trip purpose but not for emergency or medical transportation. Vehicles are wheelchair lift-equipped. 

Reservations
MCC Dial-A-Ride reservation hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Sunday. You may call a day in advance or up to two hours prior to the time of desired pick up. The phone number for reservations is (559) 263-8080.

VA Oakhurst Community-Based Outpatient Clinic Rural Patient Transportation 

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) provides rural patient transportation from the Oakhurst CBOC to the Fresno VA Hospital. Those with appointments in Fresno may call 559-241-6401 to make a reservation at least 48 hours in advance of the appointment time.

 

Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System
